With the hopes of exploring more of the city, we began our day channeling the locals and renting bikes. After a quick breakfast, we were able to bike along the canals to the Anne Frank house, shops, and finally the Van Gogh museum (probably my favorite museum of this entire trip). As many would agree, Van Gogh's art is incredibly inspiring and dynamic with his unique approach to color, texture, technique, and psychological meanings behind the works. Art aside, though, the design of this museum is be best I have ever experienced. I have studied museum fatigue and layout anxiety many times throughout college and this museum does a fantastic job of honoring the works while also providing moments of rest and differentiation. Pairing Van Gogh's almost meditative art with an intentional, empathetic setting really helped to bring the works and their meanings to life.

After the museum, we took a ferry with our bikes across the river for some lunch. Then we relaxed in a gorgeous park before taking our final bike ride through the park and city. I really love Amsterdam and its laidback culture geared towards exploration and community. I wish we were staying longer, but I can't wait to come back in the future.
