Amsterdam day one in the books! Most of today

was spent on a train but we eventually made it to

the Netherlands! I think it is safe to say today was

our best eating day so far. We began with a fantastic brunch at Oeuf: chai, truffle and cheese omelette

on a croissant, and banana bread with peanut butter

and jelly. Then we made our way to an outdoor pop up market followed by the Moco museum which housed a collection of street art among other things (Yayoi Kusama, Banksy, and The Kid’s pieces were

my favorite). Next we explored the city a bit by foot and landed at the best Indian restaurant I have ever experienced by FAR (samosas, curry, tandoori shrimp, garlic naan… couldn’t be better). We ended this fantastic day of eats with the best apple pie possibly on the planet that was… life changing. So buttery

with lots of cinnamon, apples, perfectly thick crust texture, and a giant dollop of whipped cream to top

it off. Then we set out for home, walking by the red light distract on our way.

So far I feel like this city is a mix of Brussels and Copenhagen (which would make sense considering it’s in between the two). Can’t wait to explore (and eat) more tomorrow!

P.S. first day of rain and <80 degree weather since CPH (very happy).

My favorite The Kid piece from the Moco museum that I'm still thinking about:
