We hit the ground running with a nice stroll to the doc. This was my first time really absorbing the city after landing (and recovering from jet lag). From the architecture to the cobblestone streets and lush greenery, this city feels alive and happy. The Royal Library's Garden (left) was one of my favorite spots of the walk.

We embarked on a canal tour, seeing the city from the water's point of view. I loved getting to see the different buildings and neighborhoods from a new, marine pers-pective (definitely don't have that in the desert!). Floating under bridges and through boat house neighborhoods, this tour foreshadowed some of the iconic Copenhagen locations we walked later in the day...

Our final stroll through the city led an exploration through Copenhagen's beautiful architecture and lively street life. Alongside the clustered canal buildings and restaurants (above), I was particularly moved by Frederik's Church (right). Placed just west of the Amalienborg Castle, this church is is striking with its teal dome and impressive sculptural detail. I am already so inspired by this city and can't wait for the next three weeks.
Tak,
Beia
